It is almost impossible to prepare a shooter for the excitement of a covey of Partridge swarming towards you or a flush of Pheasants erupting from over the top of distant trees.

Practice is what improves as all,but having someone there as an extra pair of eyes or ask 'where did I go wrong?' at the right time is a huge advantage and one that really makes a difference.

There are many factors that need to be taken into consideration when shooting game for the first time, apart from the obvious safety factors, there is selection of correct bird, judging the speed and hieght of birds and our consciousness of other peoplewatching.
